Davieses observe 65th anniversary of their wedding

CANFIELD — Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Davies of Plumbrook Drive observed the 65th anniversary of their wedding on Aug. 22.

Mr. Davies and the former Ivy Jean Pyles were united in marriage on that date in 1944 when he returned after two years of service with the U.S. Army in the Caribbean. The wedding took place at the home of the minister of the North Jackson Federated Church.

The couple’s family includes two daughters and their husbands, Barbara Lee and Robert Martin of Hendersonville, Tenn., and Elizabeth Ann and Thomas Blews of Elderton, Pa.; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Mr. Davies was an independent truck driver and traveled all over the country for many years.

Mrs. Davies was employed many years by Dollar Savings and Trust Co. prior to retiring in 1991.
