“The Daytime Emmy Awards” (8 p.m., CW): Vanessa Williams is your host for the 36th annual gala honoring the best in sudsy drama, daytime talk, game shows and children’s programming. Among this year’s highlights: A Lifetime Achievement Award for the iconic PBS series “Sesame Street” and a special tribute to “Guiding Light,” the CBS soap opera about to end an incredible 72-year run. As for the still-viable soaps, “All My Children” faces off against “The Bold and the Beautiful” and “Days of Our Lives” for top honors.

“True Blood” (9 p.m., HBO): As the fang-tastic season continues, things are spiraling out of control in Bon Temps. Maybe the all-powerful Vampire Queen (Evan Rachel Wood) can bring some calm.

“Mad Men” (10 p.m., AMC): Break out the martinis. On “Mad Men,” Roger and Joan are throwing dueling bashes. We expect some wild times — and a few hangovers.
