• 1418 Auxiliary seniors will meet at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Byzantine Center, 3801 Shady Run Road, Youngstown. John Texter will preside. • Cornersburg Happy Seniors will meet at 11:15 a.m. Thursday at A La Cart Catering, 429 Lisbon St., Canfield, with Betsy Koneval presiding. The cost of dinner is $10. • The Youngstown State University Retirees monthly breakfast will take place Tuesday at 9 a.m. at Denny’s Restaurant on state Route 224 in Boardman. All retirees and their spouses are welcome.

• Girard Seniors will meet at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the center, 16 N. State St. After the business session a program on “Once Upon a Time” will be presented by Ann Penman.
LOWELLVILLE
• Lowellville Senior Citizens will meet at noon Friday at the conference room of City Hall with Delores Romeo presiding. Reservations are to be made with Janet Davanzo, (330) 793-3176. A meatball sandwich lunch will be provided by Phyllis Nolfi of Gianna’s Catering. Birthdays and anniversaries will be acknowledged. • Mahoning Retired Teachers Association will meet Sept. 9 at Antone’s Banquet Center, 8578 Market St., Boardman. The social hour will begin at 11 a.m., and lunch at 11:45. The program will include the introduction of new retirees by Vice President Paul Rossi; information on retirement issues by Anne Hanning, executive director of the Ohio Retired Teachers Association; and a representative from AMBA will discuss member benefits. Nonperishable canned goods, school supplies, current magazines and paperbacks will be collected. All area retired educators are invited. • Park Vista Breakfast Club will present a program on hearing loss and hearing aids at 9:30 a.m. Sept. 10 at Park Vista Retirement Community Gathering Room, 1216 Fifth Ave. Speakers will be audiologists Tammy Maxwell and Susan Jaros of Youngstown Hearing and Speech Center.
