Niles business has fundraiser for Joe Kaluza

NILES — Wheelers Fireplace & Grill, 1974 Warren Ave., is having a propane blowout sale this weekend and a portion of the proceeds will benefit Joe Kaluza.

Today and Sunday filling up 20-pound propane tank will cost $7.99.

Owner Mark Wheeler has decided to donate 50 cents of every tank-fill to the Kaluza fund to help the Youngstown man and his family build a handicapped-accessible house.

Friends of Joe Kaluza have estimated they need to raise $300,000 to build the house. Kaluza, who was a manager of KFC on South Avenue, Youngstown, was paralyzed in March 2008 when he was shot during a robbery. Kaluza was on his way to make a bank deposit at the time.
