High school band shows set next week

Two high school band shows will take place Monday and Tuesday.

The first will be the Austintown Fitch Band Night and will take place at 7 p.m. Monday at Falcon Stadium. The show will feature bands from Austintown, Beaver Local, Canfield, Jackson-Milton, Lisbon, McDonald, Ursuline and Youngstown State University.

Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for students. Senior citizens and children get in for free.

The second show is the 35th annual Show of Bands at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Canfield High School stadium and will feature the school bands from Canfield as well as Austintown, Boardman, Poland, Struthers and West Branch. Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for senior citizens and students and free for children 5 or younger.

The show also will feature a special guest in Anthony Cebriak to conduct the national anthem. Cebriak served as Canfield band director for 27 years beginning in 1970 and organized the first Show of Bands. He is currently the musical director of the Canfield Community Concert Band.
