BOOSTERS

• The Girard Band Boosters will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the high school.

CLASSES

• Woodrow Wilson Class of 1954 will meet for breakfast at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Landmark Restaurant, 7424 Market St., Boardman. All classmates and guests are welcome.

CLUBS

• Niles Chapter of the American Sewing Guild has scheduled the following: ASG@Joann Etc. meets at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, at Joann, Etc., 7386 Market St., Boardman, for a table runner demonstration by Gretchen Saunders.

• Ohio Cultural Alliance will celebrate the 23rd year of its founding at the Sept. 14th dinner meeting. This year’s programs will focus on the life stories of distinguished local citizens and the ethnic and/or religious backgrounds that have helped to frame their lives. The first meeting of the season will begin at 6 p.m. at the Maronite Center, 1555 S. Meridian road. The speaker will be the Rev. Gary George, pastor of St. Maron Church. Membership of $25 per person is payable at this time. The cost for the meeting is $13 for each paid up member and $18 for each nonmember. Mail memberships and reservations to OCA, P.O. Box 561, Canfield, OH 44406-0561 by Sept. 9. Those attending are asked to take a can of food for the Second Harvest Food Bank.

LIBRARY FRIENDS

• The Friends of the Poland Library will meet at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the library meeting room. Guest speaker John Dunlap will portray and speak on the life of the painter Charles Birchfield. Members are asked to take their favorite covered dish for the friends’ annual luncheon.

POLITICAL CLUBS

• The Girard Men’s Democrat Club will meet at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the Parkwood Youth Center.

RELIGIOUS GROUPS

• Girard Knights of Columbus Council 2935 will meet at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the K. of C. Hall, 122 S. State St.

• McDonald Knights of Columbus will meet at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the K. of C. Hall, Illinois Avenue.

• St. Rose Quilting Group will meet at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the parish house.

• Girard-Liberty Kiwanis will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at The Golf Dome, 1300 N. State St.

SUPPORT GROUPS

• Compassionate Friends, a support group for parents who have had the tragic loss of a child, meets the first Thursday of every month at 7 p.m. at Lord of Life Lutheran Church, 550 N. Broad St., Canfield.

• Multiple Sclerosis Services Agency, Mahoning County Support Group, will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Austinwoods Health Care Center, 4780 Kirk Road, Austintown. • UPMC Horizon Greenville Campus will have a multiple sclerosis support group at 7 pm. Tuesday.
