Big turnout for Air Force jobs in Ohio

FAIRBORN, Ohio (AP) — Some 5,000 people have flocked to an Air Force job fair in Ohio.

Seekers outnumbered immediate openings by about 100-to-1 at the event Thursday at Wright State University in southwest Ohio.

The job fair was organized by the Aeronautical Systems Center, which manages Air Force, joint, and international aircraft acquisition programs and related projects.

Several dozen of the jobs will be filled within a few weeks, most at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base near Dayton. Air Force officials anticipate there will be 300 to 500 jobs to be filled over the next three to five years.

The job fair was to help identify a pool of qualified candidates for positions including engineers, program managers, and financial specialists.
