Pittsburgh contractor facing suit from AG’s office

PITTSBURGH (AP) — A Pittsburgh contractor is facing a consumer protection lawsuit filed by the state attorney general’s office.

William Lacek is accused of taking payment for home improvement projects and leaving projects incomplete or failing to start them at all. The lawsuit was filed today in Allegheny County Common Pleas Court.

Attorney General Tom Corbett says Lacek targeted Pittsburgh-area homeowners, many of them elderly. Corbett says Lacek was involved in 2003 consumer settlement with the attorney general’s office and currently has 47 complaints against him with the Bureau of Consumer Protection.
