A summary of recent criminal activity in Hubbard, Liberty and Girard:

HUBBARD

Aug. 19

Assault: Two 12-year-olds and possibly others tossed a cake at and slapped a 13-year-old girl at a state Route 304 fast-food restaurant, the accuser told police.

Aug. 22

Theft: A goose ornament was removed from the front yard of a Creed Street residence.

Aug. 23

Breaking and entering: A woman returned to her Drummond Avenue home and noticed a laptop computer missing.

Attempted theft: A juvenile tried to steal merchandise from a West Liberty Street store.

Arrest: A warrant was issued against a township woman accused of failing to appear for a violation-of-probation hearing.

Aug. 24

Menacing: An official with Roosevelt Elementary School, 110 Orchard Ave., overheard an upset relative of a student make what he interpreted was a threatening gesture and comment during an open house.

Bad check: Received at Hubbard Gas & Mint Mart, 175 Youngstown-Hubbard Road.

Domestic violence: Charges of domestic violence and assault were filed against a man after a Church Street woman alleged her husband attacked her during a fight. She had a small cut to the bridge of her nose.

Menacing: A teen boy and his mother reported the teen had been struck and threatened at a West Liberty Street business.

Assault: A man on North Main Street told officers someone got out of a vehicle and hit the accuser several times.

LIBERTY

Aug. 20

Drugs: A traffic stop near Colonial Drive led to the arrest of a Youngstown man, 37, on charges of trafficking in cocaine and possession of marijuana, drug paraphernalia and criminal tools when, police said, 13 individually wrapped packages of narcotics thought to be suspected cocaine or heroin as well as a bag of suspected marijuana were found. Also taken into custody was a 39-year-old Youngstown man wanted on three felony warrants.

Vandalism: Someone ransacked an office at a Tibbetts-Wick Road business.

Theft: A 13-year-old city boy was charged in the theft of a $17 air pistol from Wal-Mart, 200 Goldie Road.

Aug. 21

Breaking and entering: Someone used a tire iron to pry open the front door to Kravitz Delicatessen Inc., 3135 Belmont Ave. A cash drawer and an undisclosed amount of money were removed.

Theft: Police charged a Vienna woman, 40, with theft and criminal trespassing, accused in the theft of three mums from Giant Eagle, 4700 Belmont Ave. She also had been asked to stay away from the store, a report showed.

Theft: A 50-year-old Youngstown man was charged after $51 worth of merchandise was stolen from Wal-Mart.

Drug paraphernalia: A city woman, 49, was picked up on a warrant after police responded to an unwanted person at a Holly Drive apartment.

Theft: Two 40-year-old women and a 39-year-old man, all of Struthers, were charged after a $150 home surveillance camera and a pair of earrings were taken from Wal-Mart. One of the women was charged with theft, the other two people with complicity to theft.

Theft by deception: A Sodom-Hutchings Road woman checked her account online and found several unauthorized charges that cost her about $180.

Threats: A cashier at a Belmont Avenue store called police after finding a note on the back of a check written by a Youngstown man containing an implied threat that mentioned a gun and the store’s name.

Theft: A man’s wallet was removed from his truck as he made a delivery to a state Route 193 restaurant.

Aug. 22

Drug paraphernalia: An Austintown man, 36, faced one count each of possession of drug paraphernalia and criminal trespassing when authorities responded to someone on a piece of Tuttle Road property who wasn’t supposed to be there. A suspected marijuana pipe was in the man’s pocket, a report said.

Arrest: A city woman, 19, faced several charges after police received a call about a man who had pointed a gun at his father in the 3000 block of Green Acres Drive. The man likely got into a car driven by the woman, who was accused of leading authorities on a vehicular pursuit. The man had not been apprehended at the time of the report, however.

Aug. 23

Criminal trespassing: Authorities got a complaint from the manager of a Tuttle Drive mobile home park that a 25-year-old Youngstown man was on the property, despite his having been asked not to return.

Theft: A $50 phone card was stolen from Wal-Mart, resulting in a charge against a 37-year-old Reynoldsburg, Ohio, woman.

Criminal damaging: Two mailboxes in the 50 block of Redfern Lane were torn from their posts.

Theft: A $225 self-propelled lawn mower was stolen from a shed in the 1400 block of Gypsy Lane.

Aug. 24

Criminal damaging: Two large windows at Liberty Plaza, 3551 Belmont Ave., were shattered, resulting in a $3,000 total damage estimate.

GIRARD

Aug. 23

Vandalism: Several large dents were placed in a vehicle’s hood in the 60 block of Cheyenne Drive.

Damage: A man in the 1200 block of South State Street reported his trailer had been entered and a seal was broken.

Aug. 24

Disrupting public services: Police received a call from a man claiming he had been assaulted in the 100 block of Belgrade Avenue, though responding officers found instead a vacant home and no one around.

Trespassing: A Girard woman was charged with aggravated trespassing after being accused of having entered a home in the 100 block of East Second Street without permission. Police found the woman on an upstairs computer, a report said.

Theft: A $2,500, 47-inch flat-screen TV was taken from an apartment in the 200 block of East Prospect Street.

Weapon: A Girard boy faced charges of carrying a concealed weapon and criminal damaging after authorities responded to a report of someone at Stambaugh Park tearing shingles from a dugout roof. The teen also had used a knife, a report showed.
