Indictment finally comes in 1998 Ohio deaths of woman, daughter
COLUMBUS (AP) — A grand jury has indicted a convicted drug trafficker in the 1998 Ohio stabbing deaths of a Vietnamese immigrant and her infant daughter.
A Franklin County grand jury today indicted Lee Darrington, 32 was on charges of aggravated murder, aggravated burglary and aggravated robbery in the deaths of 26-year-old Ly Dieu Tran and 1-year-old Mylia Tong.
They were found dead in their Columbus apartment on Aug. 22, 1998.
Officials say the indictment stems from an anonymous tip and that robbery was likely Darrington’s motive.
Darrington is imprisoned in Toledo for drug-trafficking, corrupt activity, robbery, intimidation, retaliation, escape and other convictions.
Tran and her husband owned a manicure business. He was in Tennessee at the time of her death.
