Columbiana elections board removes two candidates from fall ballot

LISBON — Columbiana County Board of Elections today removed two candidates for Washingtonville Village Council in the November election.

James Smith, 565 W. Main St., was removed for not having enough valid signatures to get on the ballot.

William Jones, 700 Boston St., was removed for not properly filling out his candidate’s form.

The men can’t get on the ballot by trying to run as write-in candidates, board officials said.
