AT&T explains service outage
BOARDMAN — Many area residents have experienced issues with their cell phones since the weekend and the company has addressed the complaints.
An AT&T service tower on Market Street malfunctioned sometime over the weekend, causing handsets, including the popular iPhone, to lose service or experience problems.
A spokesman with the company issued the followed statement: “We have addressed an equipment issue at one of our cell sites that serves the Boardman area that had been causing some of our wireless customers to experience quality issues with their service. We apologize for any inconvenience.”
It is unclear as to when the problem is expected to be fixed. Any customers with cell phone issues are asked to call AT&T’s customer service department at (800) 331-0500.
