4 arraigned in thefts in Grove City area
GROVE CITY, Pa. — Four Grove City area residents have been charged with multiple counts of burglary, theft of motor vehicles, receiving stolen property and conspiracy.
Pennsylvania State Police said the four were involved in stealing two vehicles and a motorcycle from a Venango Road, Butler County, residence earlier this month. The vehicles were first taken to Get R Dun Auto on Barkeyville Road in Grove City and then to three locations in Mercer and Butler counties, police said.
All four suspects were arraigned and jailed on $10,000 bond each pending a preliminary hearing at a later date.
They were identified as Larry Gills, 35, of Barkeyville Road, Grove City, and Joseph Kelly, 62, Mary Ann Vetterly, 46, and Varick Vanistendael, 33, all of Boyers, Butler County.

State has rising number of handicapped drivers
COLUMBUS — The number of Ohio motorists who have license plates and placards allowing them to use parking spaces for the handicapped went up dramatically in recent years. But the percentage of required handicapped spaces hasn’t changed since 1995, and the Ohio Board of Building Standards has no plans to change.
The Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles says the number of handicapped license plates and placards in circulation went up about 23 percent between 2003 and 2007, the most recent year for which figures are available.

Pittsburgh man drowns
CHARLESTON, W.Va. — A 23-year-old Pittsburgh man has drown in Cheat Lake while camping with friends.
The Monongalia County Sheriff’s Department says the body of Peter Andrew Scalise was pulled from the lake around noon Saturday.
