Wainios renew marriage vows on 60th anniversary

YOUNGSTOWN — Mr. and Mrs. William M. Wainio Jr., 120 Euclid Blvd., celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary by renewing their marriage vows on Aug. 1 at Immaculate Conception Church. The Rev. Monsignor John Zuraw presided at the ceremony.

The celebration continued during a dinner at the Springfield Grille. Hosts for the event were their children and their spouses, JoAnne and Jerry Nunziato, Bill and Jean Wainio III, Jeanne and Jim Prior, George and Carol Wainio, Tom and Donna Wainio, Janet and David Christoff, Joyce Anne and John Fulcher, and Anthony and Cyndi Wainio. The couple have 15 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

The former Josephine A. Petruzzi and Mr. Wainio were united in marriage on July 30, 1949, at Immaculate Conception Church.

Mrs. Wainio is a homemaker. Her husband owned and operated several family businesses, including Wainio’s Food Market, Lincoln Knolls Isaly’s, My Dad’s Restaurant and My Dad’s Flat Iron Caf .
