Teacher Appreciation Day set Saturday at Boardman Staples store

BOARDMAN — Staples, 1260 Doral Drive, will help teachers get school supplies with a Teacher Appreciation Day from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.

The first 100 teachers to visit the store will receive an EcoEasy bag of supplies such as notepads and writing tools. The store also will be offering some “Dollar Deals” that will allow teachers to buy items such as highlighters, pens and erasers at significant discounts.

A research study showed shows that teachers spend nearly $400 of their own money on supplies for their students. The sum is even higher — $770 — for first-year teachers.
