New student IDs in Ohio misspell school name
REYNOLDSBURG, Ohio (AP) — Temporary student ID tags have flunked the spelling test at a high school in Ohio.
The badges issued at Reynoldsburg High School in the Columbus suburbs spell the town’s name starting with R-E-N. But the correct spelling of Reynoldsburg begins R-E-Y-N.
School starts next week, and Principal Ed Johnson says students will have to put up the IDs for a short time. The temporary ones use old photos from the last school year; permanent ones will be issued once new pictures are taken.
The misspelling was made by Lifetouch, a photography service that has a contract with the school. Lifetouch spokeswoman Sara Thurin Rollin promises the new cards will be ready within weeks — and will have Reynoldsburg spelled properly.
