The first shot of the 1963 film “Charade” shows a pistol swinging ominously into close-up ... and Audrey Hepburn getting a squirt of water right in the eye. And so it goes throughout. “Charade,” which also stars Cary Grant, manages to spoof its genre while at the same time being suspenseful. It will be screened at Yellow Creek Theatre (outside, behind Poland library on U.S. Route 224) Friday night at dusk. Live jazz precedes the event, beginning at 6 p.m. Bring a lawn chair. It’s free. k

Buffalo Wild Wings is taking its Party on the Plaza — a downtown Youngstown ritual for years — and moving it to the suburbs for a night. The Austintown Plaza store will host a party in the parking lot beginning at 8 p.m. Saturday with music by The River Saints and The House Band. Buffalo Wild Wings is partnering with Austintown Touchdown Club to put on the free outdoor event, which will benefit the booster organization. The festivities will begin at 6 p.m. with a Blazin’ Challenge hot-wing-eating contest between Austintown High School football team members, as well as a cornhole tournament for the team.

While you’re at Austintown Plaza, which is on Mahoning Avenue across from Wal-Mart, you might want to stroll across the parking lot to O’Donold’s Irish Pub, where The Rage will be performing at 9 p.m.
