LIBERTY — Charley’s Grilled Subs, 3219 Belmont Ave., has planned a “welcome to Wal-Mart” celebration this week with free samples of products and visits from “Flip,” Charley’s mascot.

Wal-Mart opens to the public at 7:30 a.m. Wednesday. Charley’s will distribute ice cream samples Wednesday, Philly cheesecake samples Thursday, strawberry lemonade samples Friday, and California chicken samples Saturday. Charley’s will be closed Sunday for family day.

Charley’s owner Chris Smallwood planned the celebration to honor Wal-Mart and the increased traffic its opening will bring to the area.
