Brett Favre to sign with Vikings, Packers not shocked

GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) — Green Bay Packers linebacker Nick Barnett has a warning for Brett Favre: He will be looking for you.

Barnett had a little fun with the possibility that Favre might come back to the NFL to play for the rival Vikings. Hamming it up for cameras, Barnett said he respects Favre but can’t wait to hit him: “I want to get a nice little shot on you, Brett. I said it. Put it on the bulletin board.”

Favre was at Vikings training camp today, and sources say he would sign a $10 million to $12 million deal, pending a physical. No one in Packers camp was surprised, given a summer’s worth of rumors and the quarterback’s notoriously shaky relationship with retirement.

Favre’s former Green teammates and coach Mike McCarthy didn’t seem surprised by the apparent move, and most of them just shrugged it off.
