A summary of recent activity in Canfield and Austintown:

CANFIELD CITY

Aug. 8

Mutual aid: Police assisted the Mahoning County sheriff by locating a female who was sitting on the Ohio Turnpike bridge at Route 224. The female said she was kicked out of a local campground and that she was drunk and too tired to continue walking back to her home in Cornersburg. Police dropped her off at Tippecanoe Road and Lockwood Boulevard to get her closer to her destination.

Aug. 11

Drug paraphernalia: Police arrested a 22-year-old Canfield man at Giant Eagle, 525 E. Main Street, on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and drug abuse instrument, possessing and concealing weapons and receiving stolen property. They found a metal spoon, five syringes, a GPS unit, four knives, one XM Satellite unit and tools.

Aug. 12

Theft: Police were called to Star Extruded Shapes, 7055 Herbert Road, where it was reported that pieces of brass and property were missing.

Aug. 10

Criminal damaging: A vehicle window was damaged at a home in the 2000 block of North Main Street.

Assault: A woman was assaulted by four men who got out of a car and struck her in the head and then dragged her across the parking lot at the Split Level and hit her in the stomach. An employee came out, and the four men fled.

Attempted breaking and entering: Attempts were made to break into Ball Busters, 3661 Mahoning Ave. , at several places of the building.

Theft: A digital camera was stolen from trees at Austintown Township Park, 6000 Kirk Road. The camera was used for surveillance of a park pavilion.

Theft: A statue of the Virgin Mary was stolen at Immaculate Heart of Mary, 4500 Norquest Blvd.

Theft: A CB radio was taken from a truck at Sebastian Trucking, 856 Ohltown Road.

Theft: Two bicycles were taken from a home in the 3000 block of Cannon Road.

Aug. 11

Theft: A CB radio was stolen from a vehicle at Watkins-Shepherd Trucking, 400 Victoria Road.

Theft: A bicycle was stolen from a home in the 1000 block of Maplecrest Drive.

Misuse of credit card: $10.85 was charged on a credit card by two men at Shell gas station, 4200 Mahoning Ave.

Theft: A universal garage-door remote opener was stolen from an auto at a home in the 6000 block of Kirk Road.

Aggravated menacing: A man was a victim of aggravated menacing at a home in the 2000 block of Bainbridge Court.

Fraud: A woman in the 30 block of South Yorkshire Boulevard said she was informed in a letter from Macy’s that her Macy’s/Visa credit card was used to charge $1,277.88.

Theft: Two males stole compact discs and fled in a truck at Wal-Mart, 6001 Mahoning Ave.

Aggravated menacing: An employee was threatened by another employee at Superior Beverage, 425 Victoria Road.

Telephone harassment: Unwanted calls from a man were reported at a home in the 1000 block of Lancaster Drive.

Aug. 12

Criminal damaging: The hoods on five vehicles were scratched at Blue Ribbon Motors, 4004 Mahoning Ave.

Breaking and entering: Meridian Auto, 164 S. Meridian Road, was entered through the rear door, but nothing was missing.

Aggravated menacing: Threats were made by a male toward another male at a home in the 4000 block of New Road.

Attempted breaking and entering: Two juveniles were apprehended for attempted breaking and entering at Austintown Middle School, 5800 Mahoning Ave.

Telecommunications harassment: Unwanted calls were reported at a home in the 1000 block of Cedarwood Drive.

Recovered property: An Ohio license plate was recovered at Cavalcade Drive and Woodhurst Boulevard.

Aug. 13

Drug offense: A Youngstown woman was issued a summons for possession and use of marijuana at Mahoning Avenue and Meridian Road.

Theft: A man was arrested for stealing from an auto at a home in the 400 block of Westgate Boulevard.

Theft: A man was arrested for theft at Wal-Mart and taken to St. Elizabeth Health Center for chest pain.

Misuse of credit card: An ex-employee of the victim used a credit card at Pilot Oil, 1150 N. Canfield-Niles Road.

Theft: Miscellaneous groceries were stolen at Giant Eagle, 5220 Mahoning Ave.

Theft: A bicycle was stolen and later recovered at a home in the 4000 block of Woodhurst Boulevard.

Attempted burglary: A window was broken at a home in the 6000 block of Silica Road.

Theft: Three Youngstown women were issued a summons for theft after they left Wal-Mart with nearly $200 in merchandise.

Aug. 14

Criminal trespassing: A man was arrested for criminal trespassing at Bill’s Place, 4771 Mahoning Ave.

Aggravated burglary: A man was arrested for assaulting a woman and breaking into her home in the 100 block of Idaho Road.

Recovered property: A suitcase with passport and military identification was recovered in the roadway in the 2000 block of South Edgehill Avenue.

Criminal mischief: A shed was tipped over at a home in the 2000 block of Innwood Drive.

Fraud: A fraudulent debit transaction was made over the Internet at a home in the 1000 block of Moorefield Drive.

Theft: Prescription medication was taken from an apartment in the 4000 block of Deer Creek Court.

Theft; A man’s wallet was taken at Quaker Steak and Lube, 5800 Interstate Blvd.

Disturbance: Two patrons were involved in an altercation at O’Donold’s, 6000 Mahoning Ave.

Theft: A woman was arrested for theft of three pairs of sunglasses and truck lights at Pilot Oil, 1150 N. Canfield-Niles Road.

Criminal damaging: Ice was thrown through a window at a home in the 6000 block of Meander Run.

Theft: The cashier was shortchanged by $62.29 by a man at Perkins Restaurant, 5550 Interstate Boulevard.

Aug. 15

Theft: A cashier was shortchanged by $25 at Arby’s, 701 N. Canfield-Niles Road, by the same male suspect as at Perkins.

Burglary: An ex-boyfriend is a suspect in a burglary at an apartment in the 1000 block of Compass West apartments.

Telecommunications harassment: Harassing e-mails and texts were reported at a home in the 3000 block of Ohltown Road.

Telephone harassment: A woman reported receiving unwanted phone calls from a man at a home in the 1000 block of DeHoff Drive.

Theft: A vehicle was damaged and the interior panel stolen in the carports in the 4000 block of Deer Creek Drive.

Criminal damaging: A tire was punctured in a vehicle at a home in the 3000 block of North Roanoke Avenue.

Disorderly conduct: A man was issued a summons for disorderly conduct at a home in the 4000 block of Pembrook Road.

Aug. 16

Criminal damaging: A Cobalt car was vandalized at a home in the 1000 block of Paisley Street.

Theft: A purse with an Ohio license and a debit card was stolen from an auto at a home in the 40 block of South Inglewood Avenue.

Criminal damaging: Three juveniles were caught on the roof of Lynn Kirk Elementary School, 4211 Evelyn Road, doing damage.
