McDonagh’s ‘Behanding’ headed for Broadway

NEW YORK— Martin McDonagh has another play headed for Broadway.

Producer Robert Fox says McDonagh’s black comedy, “A Behanding in Spokane,” will premiere March 4, 2010.

John Crowley will direct, and casting will be announced.

The plot concerns, among other things, a man searching for his missing hand.

McDonagh is the author of such Tony-nominated plays as “The Beauty Queen of Leenane,” “The Lonesome West” and “The Pillowman.”

Tharp’s ‘Come Fly With Me’ to feature Sinatra songs

NEW YORK — American musical theater’s latest collaborators — Twyla Tharp and Frank Sinatra.

Atlanta’s Alliance Theatre says it will present “Come Fly With Me” — a new musical conceived, directed and choreographed by Tharp.

The show, which concerns four couples who fall in and out of love, uses more than a dozen classic Sinatra vocals backed by an on-stage 17-piece band.

“Come Fly With Me” will open Sept. 23 in Atlanta for a run through Oct. 11. Previews begin Sept. 15. A Broadway-bound tour will go out on the road next summer.

Yves Saint Laurent’s Morocco home is for sale

LOS ANGELES — The Tangier, Morocco, cliffside home of the late fashion designer Yves Saint Laurent is up for sale.

Christie’s Great Estates, a subsidiary of the auction house, said that broker Residence Helvetia of Marrakech is offering Saint Laurent’s Villa Mabrouka, or House of Luck. Christie’s would not release pricing details.

The five-bedroom house overlooks the Strait of Gibraltar and includes a lavish garden.

Saint Laurent and his partner Pierre Berge purchased the property in 1998.

Christie’s also says it will offer a second sale from the art collection of Saint Laurent and Berge with auction house Pierre Berge and Associates on Nov. 17, 18 and 19 in Paris.

The sale of almost 1,200 artworks is estimated to fetch between $4.26 million and $5.68 million. The first auction took place in February.

Saint Laurent died in June 2008 at age 71.
