Reality star Omarosa will enter seminary
DAYTON — This may come as a surprise to anyone who has seen her villainous ways on reality TV: Omarosa is entering an Ohio seminary to study for the ministry.
Omarosa Manigault-Stallworth, the Youngstown native known for her in-your-face antics on “The Apprentice” and other reality shows, is scheduled to begin her studies at United Theological Seminary in Dayton on Monday.
Ivan Hicks, the school’s associate dean for black studies, says Omarosa will spend about two years pursuing a doctor of ministry degree.
Hicks said Omarosa has a heart for Christian ministry and has done work on behalf of the homeless and the poor in Haiti.
He said Omarosa’s reputation for both good and bad will help her as a minister, because people will relate to her.
Rapper C-Murder gets life sentence
GRETNA, La. — Rapper Corey “C-Murder” Miller has been sentenced to life in prison for his second-degree murder conviction.
District Judge Hans Liljeberg gave Miller the mandatory life sentence Friday, days after the rapper was found guilty of the 2002 killing by a Louisiana jury.
The 38-year-old Miller was convicted of shooting 16-year-old fan Steve Thomas at a now-closed nightclub in Harvey.
It was the second time that a jury convicted Miller in the case, but a 2003 conviction was overturned.
Miller has been in jail after pleading no contest to two counts of attempted murder in a separate altercation at a nightclub in Baton Rouge in 2001.
Aerosmith cancels remainder of tour
LOS ANGELES — Aerosmith has canceled the remainder of its summer tour, including its Sept. 10 concert at Blossom Music Center in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio.
In a statement issued late Thursday, the band’s publicist, MSO, said “it is with great regret” that the band is canceling the rest of its tour because of injuries that frontman Steven Tyler suffered when he fell off the stage during an Aug. 5 performance in South Dakota.
Tyler broke his left shoulder and needed 20 stitches in his head.
The statement said doctors have advised Tyler to take the time to properly recuperate from his injuries. The statement said ticket refunds for the remaining tour dates will be available at the place of purchase.
Arrest warrant issued for singer Bobby Brown
CANTON, Mass. — An arrest warrant has been issued for Bobby Brown after he failed to appear in a Massachusetts court on a contempt complaint.
Norfolk Judge Christina Harms ordered Brown arrested the next time the singer is in Massachusetts. He failed to appear at a June 29 hearing.
The Boston Herald reports that Brown has fallen $45,000 behind in child-support payments for the two teenage children he had with former girlfriend Kim Ward.
A phone message was left for Brown’s lawyer in Atlanta.
The 40-year-old Brown is a Boston native and ex-husband of Whitney Houston. He is supposed to pay $5,000 in child support per month for the children. Brown was jailed for four days in 2007 for failing to make the payments.
