Multicultural service planned for Aug. 23

COITSVILLE — A multicultural worship service is planned at 10:30 a.m. Aug. 23 at Coitsville Presbyterian Church, 91 Coitsville-Hubbard Road, (north of the intersection of Route 422 and 616). Congregations participating will be Gibson Heights Second Presbyterian, St. James African Methodist Episcopalian and Unity Baptist.

Guest speaker will be Cheryl Buxamusa, who will portray Corrie Ten Boom’s “Message on Forgiveness.” Ten Boom, author of “The Hiding Place,” had a world-wide ministry testifying to God’s love. Buxamusa lived for 18 years in The Netherlands, where she met the author.

After the service, there will be a corn roast and pot-luck picnic in the church pavilion. The corn, beverages and table service will be provided; everyone is asked to bring at least one hot dish, salad or dessert to share.
