Polish Day events scheduled for Aug. 30

YOUNGSTOWN — Polish Day 2009 will be from 11 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Aug. 30 at St. Anne Church, 3055 S. Raccoon Road. Admission is $5 and includes $5 worth of event coupons. Children 12 and under are admitted free.

Among the day’s events are:

• Polish style polka mass officiated by the Rev. Joe Rudjak at 11:30 a.m.

• Polish food buffet, bakery and deli

• Two polka bands and live broadcast of Happy Polkaland Radio show.

• Endless basket auction and giveaways.

• Folk dance performances.

• Polka lessons and demonstrations

• Accordion lessons and jam session.

• Market place vendors

Also available will be free workshops on Polish paper cutting, egg decorating, genealogy, and travel, and free activities for children.
