Part of Fifth Street in Struthers to close for culvert work
STAFF REPORT
STRUTHERS — Fifth Street between Spring and Creed streets will close Monday, the city’s mayor says.
The road will be open to people who live on the street, said Mayor Terry Stocker.
The road will close for up to 30 days for a culvert-replacement project, he said. A section of sanitary- sewer line has to be replaced as well, he said, so all utilities will have to be rerouted.
The road has been restricted to buses and trucks, so the public should simply follow the detours that have been in place for them, Stocker said.
Rudzik Excavating of Struthers is doing the work for $120,000, he said. The project is being funded by an Ohio Department of Public Works loan.
