ACTORS

“The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe.” Salem Community Theatre will have auditions at 7 p.m. Monday and Tuesday at the theater, 490 E. State St., Salem. Men, women and children of all ages are needed. Be prepared to read from the script. Performances are Oct. 9-11 and 16-18. (330) 332-9688.

“For Every Man, Woman and Child.” Kent Trumbull Theatre, 4314 Mahoning Ave. N.W., Warren. Auditions will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday and Tuesday. Casting for eight to 10 deaf actors and eight to 10 hearing actors (male or female 14 and older). Be prepared to improvise and read from the script. “Ragtime.” Top Hat Productions at Fairview Arts & Outreach Center, 4220 Youngstown-Poland Road, Struthers. Auditions will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday. Adult males and females and some children are needed. “I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change.” New Castle Playhouse Annex Theater, 212 E. Long Ave., New Castle, Pa. Auditions are 7 to 9 p.m. Aug. 24 and 25. Needed: two men and two women (age 25 and older). You will be asked to read from the script. Please prepare to sing a one-minute vocal selection. “Dracula.” Youngstown Playhouse, 600 Playhouse Lane, Youngstown. Auditions are 7 p.m. Aug. 24 and 25 for six males, age 20 to mid-fifties and two females, age 17 to mid-twenties. All roles are open. Bring a wallet-size photo and be ready to read from script. Rehearsals begin Sept. 14. Performances are Oct. 23-Nov. 1.

MUSICIANS

Cleveland Philharmonic Orchestra. Auditions are ongoing for section strings (violin, viola, cello), substitute brass and percussion for the 2008-09 season. Rehearsals are 7:30-10 Thursdays at the Tri-C’s Metropolitan Campus Auditorium in downtown Cleveland. Audition requirements are one solo piece and one orchestral excerpt of your choice. Seraphim Chorus. Auditions for all parts for the 2009-10 concert season will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Aug. 27 at Mary, Mother of Hope Parish, 124 N. Beaver, New Castle, Pa., and from noon to 2 p.m. Aug. 29 at Boardman United Methodist Church, 6809 Market St. Other days and times are also possible by appointment. They will perform three major concerts. Rehearsals begin 7 to 9 p.m. Sept. 14 at Boardman United Methodist Church and continue weekly with some extra practices.
