Quilters invited to enter contests

CORTLAND — Cortland-Bazetta Historical Society is inviting quilters to enter its second annual “Quilt Sharing” display and contest on Sept. 18 and 19 at the Opera House.

Entry forms are available at Quilter’s Fancy and Designers Two Quilt Shop or by calling (330) 637-2061. There is a $3 fee and the entry deadline is Aug. 27.

The featured speaker on Sept. 19 will be quilt collector Jacqueline Cessna, who will also be available to appraise quilts for a $15 fee.

Preregistration is requested for her lecture and can be made by sending name, address, phone number and $5 to the Cortland-Bazetta Historical Society Quilt Show, P.O. Box 411, Cortland, OH 44410. Tickets will be $7 at the door.

The show will include vendors, lunch, door prizes and scissor sharpening. The grand prize for judged entries will be a Singer featherweight sewing machine.
