Administration’s underlying theme is a grab for power

Administration’s underlying theme is a grab for power

EDITOR:

Our president and his extreme leftist cohorts in Congress appear bent on taking our country down a ruinous path. Their stance on every key current issue from health care, the nation’s finance and economy, to energy and climate change reveal a utopian lack of common sense. There is an even darker side to their agenda, however. In the process of implementing their ruinous policies, this president and a leftist Congress are trampling all over the Constitution and our individual rights.

Health Care: The president and his leftist allies in Congress keep repeating the mantra that our health-care system is broken. Besides them, who says so? They are committed to ruining the best health-care system in the world for the supposed benefit of 40 million uninsured, 15 to 18 million of whom are illegal aliens. It is outrageous to force taxpaying American citizens to subsidize illegals. Furthermore, why would we force a socialistic system, proven to be inferior worldwide, on the entire American populace for the benefit of a lot less than 13 per cent of the population. The answer is power. The more people that are beholding to government, the more control that government has over the people.

Finance/Economy: The taxpayer-financed bailout has put an enormous burden on our current and future generations. It was ill conceived and preposterously pork-laden. The financial free-fall which caused the current recession and conveniently blamed on Wall Street, was originally caused by the government itself. It was our own government that originally forced our financial institutions to extend loans to individuals who never had the means to repay them.

Energy/Climate Change: Our president’s and liberal Congress’ green energy policy and the associated “Cap and Trade Bill,” if implemented, will lead to our nation’s decline and ultimate destruction. Wind and solar power alone will do nothing to address our energy dependence on the Middle East. We have vast untapped oil reserves which the eco-terrorists who have hijacked our government will not allow to be exploited. We have among the largest coal reserves in the world. Our president wants to place an exorbitant tax on coal generated power because coal is not environmentally correct. What do you all think that’s going to do to our utility bills and, ultimately, the cost of everything? This brings us to climate change, global warming or whatever the current buzz word is. The earth is approximately 41‚Ñ2 billion years old and the climate has constantly changed over that time. How egotistically self-important is it to claim we are the cause of possible current changes?

The underlying theme through all this is that our leftist led government is making a systematic and calculated unconstitutional grab for power.

Enjoy spending my money

EDITOR:

I hope all the bankers, investment firms, automakers, auto workers, car dealers, and car buyers enjoy my tax dollars. All these bailouts and cash for cars deals come out of the government’s coffers and the money there came from millions of taxpayers like me that will see nothing in return for our promptly and honestly paying our taxes each year.

There is no such thing as free money. If it comes from the government it’s my money. So if you are able to belly up to the government pork bowl then thank the millions of Americans who paid their taxes so you could feed at the trough!
