Heat wave won’t last long

YOUNGSTOWN — The hot, icky, sticky weather is expected to leave rather quickly.

With the high temperature in the Mahoning Valley reaching 91 degrees on Sunday and 90 today, residents had their air conditioning units cranked to 11.

But Tuesday’s high is supposed to be in the low 80s, said Martin Thompson, a National Weather Service hydrometeorological technician.

That’s a few degrees higher than normal for this time of the year, but a huge drop in temperature from Sunday and today, he said.

The highs on Wednesday and Thursday are also supposed to be in the low 80s.

The high temperature will be in the mid-80s Friday through Sunday, Thompson said.
