AUCTIONS

• Coalburg United Methodist Church, 1906 Wick-Campbell Road, Hubbard, will have an auction of antiques, furniture, tools, and household and miscellaneous items at 6 p.m. Thursday. There will also be a bake sale, and food will be available.

• A Chinese auction is set for 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday at Struthers Historical Society, 50 Terrace St. Tickets are available for an original watercolor painting, “The Mailbox,” by Flo Hosa Daugherty. She was head of the art department at Boardman High School and resides in Las Cruces, N.M., where she has the Blue Gate Gallery.

BOOK SALES

• Friends of the Rodman Public Library are having a used-book sale through Wednesday. The library has been collecting used items for its annual sale since last August. Audio and videocassettes will be sold, as well as computer software, records and CDs. There are children’s materials available, along with magazines and books for adults. The sale will be from 9 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Monday and Tuesday. On Wednesday, the sale begins at 9 a.m. and ends at 7:30 p.m., with the last four hours a sale frenzy, during which all the books that fit into a grocery bag will be $1.

FESTIVALS

• Leetonia Artisans Festival is accepting applications for food and craft vendors to set up for the one-day show from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 20. at Leetonia Wick Park. The cost is $30 for a 15x15-foot spot with electricity available. Only handcrafted items are acceptable; send photos. Send all contract requests to Leetonia Artisans Festival, 300 E. FLEA MARKETs

• Salem Memorial Building Association will host an annual indoor flea market and yard sale from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 19 in the gym. Vendors can participate by renting an 8-foot table with chairs for a $10 donation. Setup will be from 6 to 8 a.m.; all items are subject to approval. Mail fee to Salem Memorial Building, 785 E. FUNDRAISERS

• Animal Welfare League has scheduled a charity motorcycle run for Aug. 30 at Yankee Lake Ballroom, 1814 state Route 7 N.E., Brookfield. The registration fee is $15 per rider and $10 per passenger. Continental breakfast and dinner will be provided, and there will be door prizes, a 50-50 raffle and Chinese auction. The ride will be a scenic route through the Pennsylvania countryside. • Alzheimer’s Assistance and Referral Network will have a garage rummage sale from 9 a.m. 5 p.m. Thursday and Friday and from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at Western Reserve United Methodist Church, 4580 Canfield Road, Canfield. Proceeds will fund support groups, caregiver education, and legal and medical seminars for families dealing with Alzheimer’s disease.

• Salvation Army Thrift Store in Austin Center, Mahoning Avenue, Austintown, is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday. A variety of men’s, women’s and children’s clothing and bric-a-brac is available at bargain prices.

• A garage sale benefit for the Shrine of Our Lady on Belle Vista Avenue will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday at 1686 Laurie Drive, Austintown, behind Wedgewood Plaza.

TRIPS

• The Diocesan Infant Jesus of Prague Guild of Mahoning County will sponsor a trip to the Pittsburgh area on Wednesday. The bus will leave Infant Jesus of Prague Byzantine Catholic Church at 9 a.m. The cost is $45 per person, and the last day for reservations is today.
