Voice of Hope dinner scheduled Oct. 23

YOUNGSTOWN — Bishop George V. Murry and Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Youngstown will host the 12th annual Voice of Hope dinner Oct. at Ciminero’s Banquet Centre, Niles, to celebrate the unity and identity of Catholic Charities Services throughout the diocese. This annual event raises funds for Catholic Charities’ Emergency Assistance programs.

The evening will commence with a silent auction and formal dinner. To celebrate this year’s theme, “Give Help … Give Hope,” the 2009 Voice of Hope awards will be presented to Jim Fisher of Canfield, individual award; St. Columba Cathedral, parish award; Collaborative Initiative to End Human Trafficking, Catholic institution award; and the Rev. John-Michael Lavelle, Immaculate Conception Church in Ravenna, the Father Kevin Fete Memorial Award.

After the presentation of awards, there will be dancing and music by Backbeat until 11 p.m. Sponsorship packages are available for this event. Tickets are $60 a person.
