Vehicular manslaughter charge filed in April motorcycle accident

BOARDMAN — A Woodrow Avenue man is charged with vehicular manslaughter stemming an April motorcycle accident on South Avenue.

Roderick McCune, 35, is scheduled to appear Thursday in Mahoning County Area Court.

Police said that on April 17, McCune was driving his SUV south on South and tried to turn left into the driveway of a doctor’s office and collided with motorcyclist Robert E. Davis, 60, of Meadowbrook Avenue, who was traveling north on South.

Davis, who wasn’t wearing a helmet, was pronounced dead a short time later at St. Elizabeth Health Center, Youngstown.
