HUBBARD
July 31
Domestic violence: Police made two arrests during a situation between a mother and daughter at a West Liberty Street apartment.
Theft: A woman’s MP3 player was stolen as she shopped at a North Main Street store.
Possible theft: A worker for a state Route 616 store reported a customer may have taken a shopping cart.
Bad check: Received at a Hall Avenue doctor’s office.
Aug. 1
Attempted breaking and entering: Someone tried to enter a concession stand at a park off Jones Street.
Theft: Officers arrested a man accused of trying to steal items from Devine’s Shop ‘n’ Save, 529 N. Main St.
Aug. 2
Menacing: An East Liberty Street woman told police a neighbor threatened to harm the accuser and her boyfriend.
LIBERTY
July 31
Bad checks: An employee with a Trumbull Avenue business reported getting three checks totaling $120 from closed accounts as payment for services.
Aug. 1
Fraud: A Timbercrest Street woman found out someone had made two fraudulent charges totaling $1,887 to her checking account.
Assault: A North Gate Road woman said her boyfriend punched her in the right eye during an argument. She suffered discoloration, swelling and a scratch.
Robbery: A man staying at a Belmont Avenue motel told police two men forced their way into his room and demanded money they said the accuser’s daughter owed, then pushed him and took $100.
Assault: A man on Scott Lane in a van told police another male tried to grab the accuser’s arm before he fled in the vehicle.
Aug. 2
Theft: A Frederick Street woman reported $20 stolen from her purse.
Breaking and entering: A Colonial Drive woman told officers she saw a male age 17 to 21 near her home that someone entered through a porch window. She also discovered in the basement copper pipes that had been cut.
Aug. 3
Arrest: A Campbell woman, 49, was booked at the Mahoning County jail on a warrant from the township.
Theft/criminal damaging: Someone used a brick to smash a car window in the 3000 block of North Gate Road before taking a 10-inch subwoofer, a purse and a speaker box set.
Aggravated menacing: A Sampson Drive woman reported a male left a phone message threatening to shoot the accuser and her two sons.
Theft: A $200 compact-disc player was removed from a vehicle in the 200 block of Colonial Drive.
Theft: A woman’s purse and a $299 unemployment check were stolen from a car in the 3000 block of Goleta Avenue.
Theft: A $700 DVD receiver was taken from a vehicle in the 2900 block of Roosevelt Drive.
Aug. 4
Criminal damaging: Someone hit and broke the post to a mailbox in the 2600 block of Tibbetts-Wick Road.
Domestic violence: A 47-year-old man was taken into custody at his Logan Way home and charged after his wife alleged he had grabbed her around the neck and pulled her into another room during an argument about their computer.
Arrest: A Youngstown man, 23, was arrested at the Stark County Jail. He was wanted by Liberty police on a charge of failure to appear for a violation-of-probation hearing.
Burglary: The front door to a Scott Lane residence was found open. Stolen was a $700 laptop computer.
Arrest: Officers responded to a suspicious person in the 4100 block of Logan Gate Road and arrested the 27-year-old city man wanted on a probation-violation charge.
Aug. 5
Theft: A woman reported a Sony PlayStation 2 game system as well as numerous pieces of jewelry missing from her Logan Gate Road apartment.
GIRARD
Aug. 4
Menacing: Two women walking on Belgrade Avenue told police that when they asked a resident to secure his dog, the man told them to walk elsewhere or he would have the animal attack them.
Assault: Authorities responded to an assault in the 700 block of Trumbull Avenue, where a juvenile said he had been punched on the left side of his face.
Aug. 5
Criminal mischief: Eggs were tossed at a vehicle in the 400 block of East Liberty Street.
Burglary: A woman in the 200 block of Park Avenue told police she awoke to find someone in her bedroom, who apparently had entered via a screen door. The male fled.
