Driving with... Dave Blaney

Last week: The Hartford native started 40th and that’s where he finished at the Pennsylvania 500 at Pocono Raceway. Blaney ran 28 laps before taking his No. 66 Toyota to the garage.

Season update: Blaney remains in 41st place with 736 points, 51 behind No. 40 Brad Keselowski.

This week: NASCAR’s top series heads back to Watkins Glen in upstate New York for the Heluva Good! Sour Cream Dips at the Glen. Qualifying starts today at 3 p.m. on ESPN. Sunday’s race is scheduled to start shortly after 2 p.m., also on ESPN, with television coverage starting at 1 p.m.

Next: The Sprint Cup series stays in the north, heading to Brooklyn, Mich., for the Michigan 400. Race day is Aug. 16.
