Roundup recovers Ohio farm’s bolting bovines
OXFORD, Ohio (AP) — About 100 cows and bulls have been rounded up after making a break for freedom overnight from their Ohio farm.
Authorities weren’t sure how the herd got loose from a farm in Milford Township in southwest Ohio’s Butler County, but all were back in their pasture by early today.
The owner managed to corral them with help from sheriff’s deputies. The escapees had made it onto a nearby road and a cemetery.
The farmer and deputies relied on car lights and the cows’ mooing to locate the freedom-seeking bovines.
Apparently some cows and bulls weren’t happy to lose their brief taste of life on the outside. About a half-dozen got out again later in the morning but were quickly returned.
