Man charged with pulling rifle and bayonet on neighbor

YOUNGSTOWN — Police said Monty L. Lester, 45, of Oakwood Avenue, was arrested around 4:15 p.m. today after he was alleged to have threatened a neighbor with a rifle with a bayonet attached.

Lester fled the area, but police said they recovered the weapon and later found Lester in a bar at Meridian Road and Oakwood Avenue.

He was arrested on aggravated menacing and other charges and lodged in Mahoning County jail to face arraignment Friday.
