Former student gets probation in Ohio college fire

CINCINNATI (AP) — A former student who pleaded guilty to aggravated arson in a fire at an Ohio college has been put on probation for five years and must continue on house arrest for an indefinite time.

A Hamilton County Common Pleas Court judge today told 19-year-old Jordan Cullen that she will spend five years in prison if she violates probation. He also ordered her to continue psychiatric counseling and to stay away from the College of Mount St. Joseph.

Cullen pleaded guilty in July to the one charge in exchange for prosecutors dropping a second arson charge.

The March 5 fires at the suburban Cincinnati college caused about $20,000 in damage to the art building and the dorm where Cullen lived as a freshman.
