A summary of recent criminal activity in Boardman:
July 30
Theft: A 19-year-old Youngstown woman was charged in the theft of four pairs of shoes from Payless Shoesource, 48 Boardman-Poland Road.
Theft: A 20-year-old city man was charged after $124 worth of merchandise was stolen from Wal-Mart, 1300 Doral Drive.
Theft: Three pieces of jewelry were removed from a home in the 100 block of Terrace Drive.
Arrest: A 27-year-old township man faced charges of criminal trespassing and obstructing official business in violation of conditions of his bond as police tried to serve a subpoena at an Eisenhower Drive residence.
Menacing: A worker with a Boardman-Canfield Road store told police a customer, upset about a payment, threatened over the phone to harm her.
Vandalism: Someone damaged support beams and the roof to a fruit stand on a vacant lot near Market Street.
Breaking and entering: A garage in the 400 block of West Midlothian Boulevard was entered. Stolen was a 22-inch lawn mower.
July 31
Arrest: A Poland man, 42, was picked up at a Market Street motel on a probation-violation charge.
Criminal damaging: Someone tossed eggs and struck the front of a residence and its driveway in the 6900 block of Glendale Avenue.
Burglary: At a Fox Hollow Drive residence at which a gold wedding band and a man’s wristwatch were taken.
Identity fraud: An Indianola Road woman told officers that after receiving her credit report, she discovered a $605 past-due bill for a phone account she had never set up.
Theft: A Sony PlayStation game system and two PlayStation games were removed from a home in the 800 block of Teakwood Drive.
Fraud: An employee of a South Avenue business noticed numerous online orders totaling $2,241 from a suspicious Visa card. Later, a Boston man called saying his credit card had seven charges he had never made.
Vandalism: Someone spray-painted graffiti on a window at a Bristlewood Drive business.
Aug. 1
Theft: Two lawn decorations were removed from a yard in the 400 block of Presidential Court.
Theft: Four gifts were stolen from a vehicle in the 4000 block of Windsor Road.
Theft: Two global-positioning-system units were stolen from cars in the 100 block of Prestwick Drive.
Theft/damage: Someone pried open and damaged a vending machine at a South Avenue motel before taking coins.
Criminal damaging: A brick was thrown through a vehicle’s passenger-side window in the 100 block of Prestwick Drive, causing an estimated $400 worth of damage.
Theft: A woman, 20, and a 23-year-old man, both of Youngstown, were accused in the theft of 29 DVDs from Sears in the Southern Park Mall. The woman and the man faced felony charges of theft and complicity to theft, respectively.
Theft: A 15-year-old Raleigh, N.C., girl and a Poland girl, 16, were charged, accused of stealing 21 undergarments from the J.C. Penney store in the Southern Park Mall.
Breaking and entering: A man in his mid-20s was seen entering a garage on Overhill Road and taking a self-propelled lawn mower.
Counterfeit: A phony $10 bill was passed at Sam’s Club, 6361 South Ave.
Theft: A woman’s purse was stolen at a Boardman-Canfield Road restaurant.
Menacing: A Youngstown woman waiting to give a ride to a friend near Huntington Drive reported another woman threatened to beat up the accuser.
Aug. 2
Menacing: A worker for a Doral Drive store told authorities that a fellow employee threatened to harm the accuser as part of ongoing problems between the two.
Theft: A Mineral Ridge man, 25, and a 23-year-old Youngstown woman were accused in the theft of a $40 cell phone from Wal-Mart. The man was charged with theft, the woman with obstructing official business.
Aug. 3
Menacing: A woman at the scene of an accident told police another woman in her 50s threatened to kill the accuser, who had accidentally struck a dog with a vehicle.
Attempted burglary: In the 200 block of Erskine Avenue.
Criminal damaging: The door of an apartment in the 7300 block of West Boulevard was spray-painted.
Assault: A Southern Boulevard woman reported a former male friend who refused to leave pushed her, though she was not injured.
Criminal mischief: Someone wrote two names in mud on a maintenance shed belonging to a Stratmore Avenue business.
Theft: A woman’s Blackberry cell phone was stolen as she patronized a Boardman-Poland Road eatery.
Theft: A woman stole three sticks of deodorant from Family Dollar, 4028 Market St.
Breaking and entering: An 18-speed mountain bike and a self-propelled lawn mower were stolen from a garage someone had entered in the 400 block of West Midlothian Boulevard.
Criminal damaging: A cup of iced coffee was thrown into a car in the 400 block of Boardman-Poland Road.
Theft/damage: Someone broke into a concession stand at Boardman Center Middle School, 7410 Market St., and stole miscellaneous food.
Robbery: A 16-year-old Struthers boy and a Youngstown boy, 17, were charged with aggravated robbery after a man walking near Overhill Drive told police two teens grabbed and punched him, then demanded property. One of the teens also was charged with carrying a concealed weapon when, officers said, he held a knife while the other boy stole the victim’s wallet and keys before they ran away.
