Bike run to raise cash for Noah’s Lost Ark

YOUNGSTOWN — Bikers from Cleveland, Akron and the Mahoning Valley will come together Sunday for a bike run to raise money for Noah’s Lost Ark Animal Sanctuary.

Noah’s Lost Ark, located in Berlin Center, is the last hope for many exotic animals that would otherwise die from abuse, starvation, neglect or euthanization.

The facility, operated by Ellen and Doug Whitehouse, shelters more than 200 exotic animals that have been rescued from owners who cannot take care of them. The animals are able to live out their lives in a caring environment. The sanctuary houses lions, tigers, bears, wolves, monkeys, zebras and many other species.

Noah’s Lost Ark receives no government funding of any kind and relies solely on donations. Registration for the bike run will be from 10 a.m. to noon at Youngstown Cycle Supply, 6915 Market St., Boardman.

The run will include a tour of Noah’s Lost Ark to see the animals and will end at Rosetta Stone, 110 W. Federal St., downtown. Rosetta Stone and Dr. Frank Petrakos have donated all of the food for the event. Rosetta Stone also will host games in which bikers can participate. Live music will be provided by classic rock band Filthy McNasty.

There will be a raffle and a Chinese auction. The main prize will be a Cleveland Cavaliers jersey autographed by Mo Williams.
