ACTORS

“God’s Favorite.” Trumbull New Theater, 5883 Youngstown-Warren Road, Niles. Auditions are 1-3 p.m. Sunday. Cast requirements: 3 men, 2 women ages 45 and older; 2 men and one woman, 18-30. Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast.” New Castle Playhouse, 202 E. Long Ave., New Castle, Pa. Auditions are 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday and Monday. A reading will be required. Be ready to sing a one-minute vocal; bring CD accompaniment, or an accompanist will be available. Looking for men, women and an ensemble. Performances are Nov. 20-Dec. 6. (724) 657-9369.

“For Every Man, Woman and Child.” Kent Trumbull Theatre, 4314 Mahoning Ave. N.W., Warren. Auditions will be 7 to 9 p.m. Aug. 17 and 18. Casting for 8-10 deaf actors and 8-10 hearing actors (male or female 14 and older). Be prepared to improvise and read from the script. “Ragtime.” Top Hat Productions at Fairview Arts & Outreach Center, 4220 Youngstown-Poland Road, Struthers. Auditions will be at 7 p.m. Aug. 19. Adult males and females and some children are needed. Auditioners will be asked to do a reading and a prepared vocal selection. Rehearsals begin Aug. 30. (330) 881-0980.

MUSICIANS

Cleveland Philharmonic Orchestra. Auditions are ongoing for section strings (violin, viola, cello), substitute brass and percussion for the 2008-09 season. Rehearsals are 7:30-10 Thursdays at Tri-C’s Metropolitan Campus Auditorium in downtown Cleveland. Audition requirements are one solo piece and one orchestral excerpt of your choice.
