Domestic abuse awareness workshop scheduled

YOUNGSTOWN — The Youngstown District of Women in Ministry at the AME Church will sponsor a domestic abuse awareness workshop at noon Aug. 15 at Sheridan AME Church, 301 W. Ninth St. in East Liverpool.

Participating in the program will be Nickie Ostick, Outreach coordinator for the Christina House; the Rev. Theresa Della Connor; the Rev. Kimberly Morgan; and evangelist Carla Gipson.

Lunch will be provided and donations will be appreciated.

The YMIM is collecting discarded cell phones to be reprogrammed for 911 calls and given to Sojourner House for distribution to the needy.
