Dinner party honors Whites on 60th anniversary

POLAND — Mr. and Mrs. Anthony White, 1175 E. Calla Road, Poland, celebrated their 60th anniversary during a 7 p.m. dinner party on July 18 at Leo’s Ristorante in Howland.

Hosts for the event were their son and daughter-in-law, Atty. Richard and Anna Louise White of Poland, and their grandson, Brian White.

Mr. White and the former Florence Scaperotto were united in marriage on July 18, 1949, at St. Anthony Church in Youngstown, where they are members, and where Mrs. White is a member of the Altar and Rosary Society.

The couple were co-owners of Western Auto Store in Canfield prior to retiring in 1989. They are members of the Cinquanta Club and were grand marshals during Canfield’s July 4th parade in 1988.

Mr. White, who is known as Tom, was a member of the U.S. Navy from 1943-1946, and he served two years in the Pacific.
