Coming to Covelli Centre in November: Speedwagon, Styx, Night Ranger
YOUNGSTOWN — Three ’80s rock powerhouses — REO Speedwagon, Styx and Night Ranger — will come to Covelli Centre for a Nov. 7 concert.
Tickets are $29.50, $39.50, $49.50 and $59.50 and will go on sale at 10 a.m. Aug. 14 at Ticketmaster.com; the arena’s retail locations including Giant Eagle and Macy’s; by phone at (866) 448-7849); and at the Covelli Centre box office.
Styx and REO Speedwagon generated a slew of hits in the ’70s and ’80s.
Speedwagon gained fame with power rock tunes such as “Riding The Storm Out” and “Roll With The Changes.” The band increased its radio hit list in the ’80s with the release of the “Hi Infidelity” album, which included “Keep On Loving You” and “Take It On The Run.”
Styx broke out with the 1977 album “The Grand Illusion” and followed it with the even bigger “Pieces of Eight.”
Styx hits include “Come Sail Away,” “Renegade,” “Blue Collar Man” and “Babe.” The band’s biggest album was 1981’s “Paradise Theatre,” which included “Rocking The Paradise,” “Too Much Time On My Hands,” “The Best Of Times” and “Snowblind.” In 1983, the band released “Kilroy Was Here,” which featured the hit song “Mr. Roboto.”
Night Ranger’s hits include “Sister Christian,” “When You Close Your Eyes” and “Don’t Tell Me You Love Me.”
