4 dead in suburban Pittsburgh health club shooting

BRIDGEVILLE, Pa. (AP) — A Pittsburgh television station reports that four people are dead after a shooting at a suburban Pittsburgh health club, including the shooter.

Neither Allegheny County police nor the medical examiner’s office would confirm KDKA’s report of four dead at the LA Fitness Center in Bridgeville when asked by The Associated Press.

A witness told the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette that she was in an exercise class when a man came in a back door and started shooting. Ashley Ogordowski said a friend of hers was among the wounded and she desperately wanted to know what happened to her friend.

Perry Calabro, who was playing racquetball inside, said it was total chaos. He told the Post-Gazette: “Once the shooting started, everybody started running. “

Bridgeville is about 13 miles southwest of Pittsburgh.
