Champion team wins 10U state Hot Stove title

ALLIANCE — The Champion Buckeyes completed a 26-0 season by defeating Vermilion Aramys, 6-1, to win the H League (9-10) state baseball championship in Hot Stove League.
Champion is the first Hot Stove League team from Trumbull County in 51 years to win a state championship.
Howland 10-11
CHESAPEAKE — The Howland Little League 10-11 baseball team continued it state tournament run on Monday with a 10-4 victory over Maumee.
Howland improved to 2-1 in the double elimination tournament, and will play again today at 12:30 p.m. in the consolation bracket.
PONY softball
AKRON — Valley Extreme Red made it to the elite eight in the 18U division of the PONY Nationals before losing 2-0 to Roadrunners Gold.
Extreme opened with a 1-0 win over Central Jersey Cyclones, featuring a 10-strikeout no-hitter by Racehl Pico.
Emily Paris scored a on a bunt by Amanda Delaquila in the sixth inning.
Bianca Biondillo, Macy Ucchino, Meg Williams and Morgan Piacquadio also had hits for Extreme.
Extreme then defeated Northwest Explosion 7-1. Pico allowed four hits and struck out 15.
Ucchino and Stephanie Berdis both hit a double and single in the game, while Williams had two singles. Biondillo and Delaquila also had hits.
Against Road Runners Gold, Pico allowed only four hits. Biondillo, Ucchino, Paris and Berdis had hits for Extreme.
