Shots from car hit Youngstown man

YOUNGSTOWN — Police said a Wilbur Avenue man riding in a car on Hilton Avenue was hit by gunfire from a passing car.

Floyd M. Royal was hit in the upper left shoulder and was treated at St. Elizabeth Health Center, police said.

Royal told police that he and James Neail, 25, of Hilton Avenue, were driving west on Hilton about 2:15 a.m. Saturday when the shots came from an eastbound car.

Neither man could give a description of the vehicle or the person who fired at them, police said.

Investigating officers found two spent 9 mm shell casings in the 200 block of Hilton.
