Babe Ruth 14-year-olds

ROBINSON, Ill. — Starter and winner Christopher Maze and Sean Coyne pitched two innings apiece before Jacob Froats finished, but it was the bats of the Youngstown 14-year-old Babe Ruth All-Stars that led to a 14-2 win over Northern Indiana in the Ohio Valley Regional.

Maze had two hits including a two-run home run, Danny Ferguson had two doubles, Robert Vargo had three hits,

Mike Raschilla had four RBIs on two hits, including a double; and Froats and Brandon Ritchie had a double apiece in the five-inning game that was halted due to the 10-run rule

Raschilla was named player-of-the-game for Youngstown — one of four 2-0 teams remaining along with Matoon, Wisconsin; Jasper, Indiana and Henderson, Ky.

Today at 2 p.m., Youngstown plays Matoon (Northern Wisconsin). A win would put the Terry Landis-managed all-stars in the winners bracket finals.
