New Castle Playhouse to present 'Lend Me a Tenor'

NEW CASTLE, Pa. — The comedy “Lend Me a Tenor” will open May 8 at New Castle Playhouse, 212 E. Long Ave. The show, directed by Paul Angelucci, will run for nine performances: May 8-10, 15-17 and 22-24. Friday and Saturday performances begin at 7:30 p.m.; Sunday matinees at 2 p.m.

There will be a free wine and cheese party for all ticket holders at 6 p.m. on opening night.

Reservations can be made by calling the box office at (724) 654-3437. All tickets are $10. Group rates are also available for parties of 10 or more.

"Lend Me a Tenor," a Broadway and West End hit, is set at an opera house where world-famous tenor Tito Merelli is scheduled to perform. Chaos and comedy collide when the two lead characters, Saunders and Max, mistakenly think Tito committed suicide.
