Musical duo returns to hometown for gig

HUBBARD — The acoustic duo 2B40 will return to their hometown of Hubbard for a Saturday show at 8 p.m. at the Downtown Cafe, 29 N. Main St.

The band, based in Franklin, Pa., is comprised of Eddie St. Clair and his wife, Sharon, who are both 1986 graduates of Hubbard High School.

Eddie has been a part of numerous bands and other musical collaborations, including Upside, The Wanna-Beatles and Eddie’s October. Sharon has been casually involved with music since high school, where she played the flute. She has since learned guitar, mandolin and bass.

The duo will play its song “Youngstown,” which Eddie wrote in 1993 and recorded for his 1996 album, “Same Old Change.”

It is told from the perspective of a young boy whose grandfather, father and uncles lost their jobs at a steel mill. A video of the song by Franklin photographer Garrett Kline, can be seen on the band’s Web site, myspace.com/2b40.
