Body found in truck at Austintown store

AUSTINTOWN — The body of a man was found inside a pick-up truck at Wal-Mart on Mahoning Avenue.

Police said at about 3:45 p.m. Wednesday, Wal-Mart employees went to check on the truck, which had been parked outside the store for about a week. They told police an unidentified male was inside the truck, unresponsive.

When police arrived on scene, officers determined the man was dead. Because the body was so badly decomposed, police said the man’s identity won’t be known until the coroner examines it today.

Police said the registered owner of the truck is wanted on a murder warrant, but it’s not yet clear if the body is that of the registered owner.
